On August 30th, 2019, Lawrence S. Ting Foundation organized a handover ceremony of twelve gratitude houses, equivalent to the amount VND 600 million, to poor families in Thanh Binh commune, Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province.
Our Foundation, with the funding of Phu My Hung Development Co., Ltd., responded to the fund-raising activity initiated by Lieutenant General Nguyen Viet Thanh. Twelve families granted gratitude houses are in underprivileged circumstances. They are facing various livelihood difficulties such as lack of cultivating land, old age, lacking of working capacity, having serious diseases and health problems... We supported VND 50 million to each family to build and repair the house.
In addition to the funding supported to the construction of gratitude houses, at the handover ceremony, we and the local government also presented gifts to the families as the encouragement for them to overcome the challenges.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Viet Thanh sent the warm appreciation to Phu My Hung Development Co., Ltd. and Lawrence S. Ting Foundation for the enthusiastic cooperation with the local authority in implementing this initiative. Besides providing funding the construction of houses, Lawrence S. Ting Foundation together with other parties, had organized this handover ceremony very thoughtfully. According to the initial plan, the handover ceremony would be held in early September but the works were completed earlier than expected time. As a result, the underprivileged people can quickly stabilize and improve the quality of their lives.
